Biography

Mark Lindquist was appointed to be our Pierce County Prosecutor by a unanimous bipartisan vote of the County Council on September 1st, 2009.

Mark most recently tried the case of slain Tacoma cab driver Mohamud Ahmed. The jury convicted the defendant of First Degree Murder. Mark’s upcoming cases include State v. Darcus Allen where the defendant is charged with four counts of Aggravated Murder for being an accomplice to the man who murdered the four Lakewood Police Officers.

The former Chief Criminal Deputy, Mark has been with the office for 15 years and has prosecuted almost every type of case, including murder, rape, child molestation, domestic violence, assault, drive-by shooting, financial and property crimes. He also convicted the Tacoma Mall shooter.

For almost five years Mark was the Team Chief of the Drug Unit. In that time methamphetamine labs were reduced by nearly 90% in Pierce County. In the effort to reduce methamphetamine labs, Mark worked with local law enforcement, the community, and our legislative delegation.

In his initial years as a deputy prosecutor, Mark worked in Buckley, Eatonville, and Gig Harbor, as well as Tacoma. He visits community groups throughout the county and welcomes speaking opportunities. Contact us if you would like to invite Mark to speak to your group.

Mark is a member of Rotary 8, serves on the Tacoma Community College Foundation Board, and was a reading tutor at McCarver Elementary School. He is also a nationally known accomplished author.

Mark and his wife Chelsea live in Tacoma near Stadium High School where Mark’s Grandmother, Katherine Reese, graduated in 1926. Their daughter Malina Evans Lindquist was born on August 9.
